Privacy policy

1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy applies when you use the Foracle mobile application, support pages, and related services. Foracle is responsible for the service described here. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to foracleapp@gmail.com.

2. Information we process

Account and authentication information

We process your display name and email address, identifiers received when you sign in with Google or Apple, and session data used to keep you signed in and protect your account.

Profile and calorie-target information

We process the information you choose to provide for your profile and energy estimate, including birth date, sex, height, weight, activity level, goal, and food or nutrition preferences. We also process calorie targets and similar values derived from that information.

Meal and nutrition information

We process meals, food items, calorie and nutrient values, notes or quantities you enter, analysis results, and the dates and times associated with your logs.

Optional meal photos

If you choose photo analysis, we process the meal photo you submit and the analysis generated from it. You can log food manually without submitting a photo.

Usage, quota, and subscription information

We process counters and records needed to enforce daily AI analysis and item-estimate limits. If you subscribe to Premium when it is available, we will also process subscription, entitlement, and purchase identifiers made available through Google Play and RevenueCat. Foracle does not receive your full payment-card details from Google Play.

3. How we use information

We use this information to:

• authenticate you, maintain sessions, and secure your account;
• create and maintain your profile and calculate an estimated daily calorie target, including TDEE-related values;
• analyze food when requested, maintain meal logs, and show nutrition summaries;
• apply AI usage quotas and provide item estimates;
• confirm and provide Premium entitlements;
• respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests; and
• detect misuse, investigate service issues, and protect the service and its users.

4. Photo and AI processing

Meal photos and related prompts are sent for processing only when you request an analysis. Photos are used to provide the requested analysis, and Foracle does not use them to train models without your separate explicit consent.

AI-generated calorie and nutrition estimates are approximate and may be incomplete or incorrect. You can review and edit estimates before relying on them in your meal log.

5. Service providers

Foracle uses service providers to operate specific parts of the service:

• Google and Apple provide sign-in and return authentication identifiers needed to access your account.
• RevenueCat will help validate Google Play purchases and manage Premium subscription entitlements when Premium subscriptions are available.
• Microsoft Azure App Service hosts the application service.
• Microsoft Azure Database for PostgreSQL stores account, profile, meal, quota, and entitlement records.
• Microsoft Azure Blob Storage stores optional meal photos in private storage.
• Microsoft Azure OpenAI processes requested food-photo analyses and item estimates.

These providers process information as needed to deliver their part of the service and may have their own privacy notices governing their separate activities.

6. Sharing and sale

Foracle does not sell your personal information. We disclose information to the service providers listed above only as needed to operate Foracle. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

7. Security

Foracle uses HTTPS to encrypt information in transit, keeps meal-photo storage private, and uses access controls intended to limit service and administrative access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to use safeguards appropriate to the information we process.

8. Retention and deletion

We generally retain account information while your account is active and retain other information as needed to provide and protect the service. When your account is deleted, we remove or de-identify the information associated with it, subject to limited retention where needed for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or transaction-record obligations.

Residual copies in backups are not used as active account data and age out through normal backup cycles. We do not promise a fixed backup-expiration period.

9. Your choices

You can review and edit many profile and meal values in Foracle. You can choose not to submit meal photos and can request access, correction, or deletion by contacting foracleapp@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Additional rights may apply under the law where you live.

10. Younger users

Foracle is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information through Foracle, contact us so we can review and address the report.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. The date at the top shows when the current version became effective and was last updated.
